Nashville and the counties around it. We stay close to home because that is where we can actually go and sit down with somebody.
Doing the work, not talking about it
Nonprofit founders and staff, volunteers, educators, advocates, business owners who give back, and neighbors who saw a need and did something about it.
They do not have to be well known
Most of our guests run something you have never heard of. That is usually the point.
They are up for an honest conversation
We ask about the hard parts as well as the good ones. The best episodes come from people willing to talk about what they learned, not only what they built.
They can record from a computer
We record remotely over video, so they will need a computer with a camera and microphone and an internet connection that holds up for about an hour.
The story stays hopeful
We keep the show uplifting and away from politics and divisive subjects. If that is the heart of somebody's story, we are the wrong show for them.

What happens next
After you send it.
We keep this part simple, and the person you name stays in control of it.
We read it.
Every nomination comes straight to the two of us. There is no team it gets handed to.
We reach out to them.
Not to you. If we think there is an episode in it, we contact the person you named and ask whether they are open to a conversation.
Nobody is committed.
Being nominated is not an obligation. People say no, or say not yet, and that is a perfectly good answer.
