Terms of service
The plain version of what this site is, what it is not, and what we ask of you when you use it.
You Matter Nashville is a podcast and website published by Jason and Mindy Hoover in Middle Tennessee. By using this site you are agreeing to what follows. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the site.
We are independent
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking on behalf of the organizations, businesses, or people featured on this show. Being featured is not a partnership and it is not an endorsement in either direction. For anything official about an organization, including services, hours, eligibility, or giving, go to that organization's own site. We link it on every episode page.
This is not professional advice
Our episodes cover subjects including health, mental health, addiction and recovery, disability, housing, and family hardship. Nothing on this site is medical, mental health, legal, or financial advice, and nothing here is a substitute for talking to a qualified professional. If you need help now, contact a licensed provider or, in the United States, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
Accuracy, and what happens when things change
We check what we publish and we list our sources on each episode page along with the date we last checked them. Even so, details go out of date. Programs move, hours change, people take new roles, and links break. We publish this material in good faith and we make no guarantee that everything remains current. Where an episode and an organization's own site disagree, trust theirs. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we will bring it current.
Nominating somebody
When you nominate a guest you are sending us information about another person. Only send what you reasonably believe to be accurate and what you would be comfortable with them seeing, because we may contact the person you name and tell them they were nominated. A nomination is not a promise that we will make an episode, and we decide what we cover.
Our content, and our guests' words
The episodes, writing, artwork, and design on this site belong to You Matter Nashville unless credited otherwise. You are welcome to share links, quote us with attribution, and embed our episodes from the platforms that host them. Please do not republish whole episodes or transcripts as your own, or use our name or artwork in a way that suggests we endorse something we have not. Our guests keep the rights to their own words and to anything they own that appears in an episode.
Using the site
Please do not attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site, and please do not use our forms to send anything unlawful, abusive, or deliberately false. We may remove content or block access if that happens.
Links to other sites
We link to organizations, podcast platforms, and other sites we do not control. Those links are there to be useful, not as a guarantee about what you will find. Once you leave this site, the other site's terms and privacy practices apply, not ours.
The site is provided as it is
We publish this site as a small independent show, without warranties of any kind, and we do not promise it will always be available or error free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of the site or from anything you rely on here. Some places do not allow those limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law permits.
Changes
We may update these terms as the site changes. The date at the top tells you when we last did. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
